Fort Lauderdale
A rare find, built with a specific purpose in mind – to sail the world’s oceans. Her designer is the award-winning design firm Du Toit Yacht Design, who has produced more custom catamaran meters and tonnage than any other yacht designer in the southern hemisphere.
This Two Oceans 750 is expertly built in sandwich construction, using epoxy E-glass with a PVC foam core. She has a fixed keel and spade rudder using laminar flow foil sections that were custom designed by Du Toit Yacht Design. Two Oceans Marine are renowned as industry leaders and specialists in building custom-designed luxury catamarans with a build quality and attention to detail that is exemplary.
The cost to build a similar spec vessel would be astronomical.
Arguably the most compelling feature is the enclosed flybridge with 360-degree panoramic views and 360-degree protection from the elements. This gives the helmsman and crew the ability to explore the most remote destinations regardless of the weather patterns. High latitude destinations come to mind along with the traditional tropical cruising itinerary.
She is currently operated by a full-time liveaboard family that has embarked on an adventure of a lifetime. They have sailed through Southern Africa, crossed the South Atlantic, and have now spent several seasons exploring the waters of the Caribbean. When asked what they love most about their yacht, their consistent answer is “her ability to sail and sail properly at that.”
Most luxury catamarans in this size range are not built for circumnavigations but rather the charter market and fair-weather sailing. The Two Oceans 750 is built for both and has proved this during her short lifespan on the water. A good example would be the Cape to Rio race in 2014. When 1/3 of the fleet were forced to abandon the race due to heavy weather, she kept course and finished in a total of 28 days at sea and arrived in pristine condition.
This yacht of elegance, with beautiful lines and intricate features, has been designed for effortless ocean living. The easily accessible spaces are open and free-flowing.
The HQ² yacht boasts a spacious saloon and galley, with all the comforts one could ask for on a luxury holiday – B&O full sound system, entertainment area in the saloon, with two Vitrifrigo fridges and freezers, and Miele appliances such as:
Moving out of the saloon into the spacious aft cockpit, one finds plenty of comfortable and stylish custom-made outdoor furniture and a bar area with BBQ and a fridge on teak decks. Interior soles are solid European oak with furniture modules made from stained oak veneers.
Du Toit Yacht Design worked very closely with the owner on the design and style, paying close attention to detail, resulting in a simple yet magnificent interior.
Up a level, on the sheltered flybridge is where one comfortably pilots the yacht, while seated on beautiful Besenzoni chairs, using the electric Harken Winches and Spinlock jammers and a comfortable sitting area so family and guests can join the skipper in sailing the boat once under sail or motor.
